Richard
Oren Wevley, 56, a retired police
officer and mechanic from Cut Bank, passed away Wednesday,
January 11, 2006 at the Glacier Care Center due to a lengthy
illness. Memorial services are 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14th
at St. Paul Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the Crown
Hill Cemetery. Whitted Funeral

Survivors include his wife Margo
of Cut Bank; mother, Ruth Ulven of
Cut Bank; children, Dixie Shields of Helena,
Orlean Timmer
of California and Mike Wevley of
Roundup; brothers Larry Wevley and
Cliff Wevley both of Cut Bank;
sisters, Linda Fitzgerald of Cut Bank and Patty
Luchi of Nashville, TN and
grandchildren Isabella, Skylar,
Dakota and Ayden Shields, Sierra Massey & Devon
Timmer.
He is preceded in death by his
father and an infant daughter.
He was born March 30, 1949 to Oren
& Ruth (Seefeldt)
Wevley in
Barnsville, MN. He moved to Cut Bank with his family at a
young age where he grew up and was educated. He joined the U.S.
Army in 1968 and fought in Vietnam where he received two purple
hearts.
Dick went to work for the Cut Bank
Police Dept. in 1970 where he served for 21 years. During that
period, he also operated an auto mechanics shop. He married
Bonnie Benson in 1971 and they later divorced. In 1989, he
married Margo Meyer.
He was member of St. Paul
Lutheran Church and enjoyed hunting, cooking and mechanic work.
