Doris
Christofferson Rambo, 82, “entered into
eternal rest” February 26, 2009, on the farm west of Shelby with her family
by her side. At her request, no services will take place at this time.
Cremation has taken place, and a gathering of family and friends will take
place at the Zell Farm
on Sunday, May 10th. Whitted Funeral
Chapel is caring for the family.
Doris Jean Christofferson was born May 10, 1926 in Sidney , Montana , to Chris and Murl Christofferson. Doris married John Wesley “Jack” Rambo on November 2, 1942, in Sand Point , Idaho . They moved to Kevin in 1943. She had a son, Allen S. Rambo and daughter, Wanda Rambo Zell.
Doris worked as Deputy Assessor at the Toole County Court house for a number years. She and long time friend, Phyllis Dumon, purchased the Weight Watcher franchise in the early 70’s which they established a headquarters for in Great Falls , Montana . She retired in 1982 to Kingman , Arizona and summered in Coram.
Doris is survived by her son, Allen (Judy) Rambo of Spokane , WA; daughter, Wanda (Hank) Rambo Zell of Shelby, MT; brother, John (Marlene) Christofferson of Oroville, CA; and sister-in-law, Gwenn Rambo Lee of Kalispell. Grandchildren include Jay (Donna) Rambo of Spokane, WA; Jill (Dave) Rambo Lindquist of Mesa, AZ; John (Leigh) Zell of Shelby, MT; and Shannan (Joe) Zell Bogner of Kalispell , MT. She had 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
