I. "Petie" Fagan, 80, a housewife from Kevin, died of natural causes Friday
at a Great Falls hospital.
Visitation is 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Whitted Funeral Chapel, with vigil
service to follow. Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Thursday at St. William Catholic
Church in Shelby, followed by a reception. Burial is 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Mount
Olivet Cemetery in Conrad.
Petie was born on June 24, 1928, to Cy and Laura (Farrell) O'Neil in Lewistown.
She was educated in Lewistown but attended Cut Bank High School for one and one
half years and graduated there. She and Tom Fagan were married in Cut Bank Oct.
4, 1947. They lived in various places including Choteau, Shelby, Great Falls,
Cut Bank and finally Kevin.
She was a member of the Catholic Church. Petie enjoyed sewing, knitting,
crossword puzzles, computer games and taking trips.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Cindy) Fagan of Kevin; her brother Bill (Kay)
O'Neil of Walnut Creek, Calif.; grandchildren, Trina Knaup (Joe) Bynum of Kitty
Hawk, N.C., Timothy (Amy) Fagan of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Shane R (Kayla) Fagan
of Poulouse, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Brandon Bynum of Kitty Hawk and Kendra,
Tallia and Cylie Fagan all of Fairbanks; as well as many nieces and nephews. She
also is survived by her special friend, Kay Nailer, of Conrad.
Petie was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, in 2005; her parents; and three
sons, Timothy A., Patrick Michael and Terrance Joseph Fagan.
